Bring Your Voice to the Idaho Statehouse IEA Lobby Day

Every Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, Idaho Education Association members gather in Boise for Lobby Day, IEA's premier legislative advocacy event and the state's most important day of advocacy for public education.

Your Experience Is Your Expertise

No one understands Idaho's public schools better than the educators who work in them every day. That means there are no better advocates for Idaho's students, educators and public schools than IEA members.

Lobby Day is your opportunity to put that expertise into action by meeting directly with lawmakers and helping shape the future of public education in Idaho.

You do not need to be a policy expert or an experienced lobbyist to make a difference. IEA provides the training, background information and support you need to feel prepared and confident. Your role is simply to share your experiences, explain how legislative decisions affect your school community, and help lawmakers understand what students and educators need to succeed. Whether it's your first Lobby Day or your tenth, your voice matters.

First-time participants are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Who Can Participate?

Lobby Day is open to IEA members who contribute to the Political Action Committee for Education (PACE), the union's political action fund that supports pro-public education candidates and advocacy efforts. PACE membership is required to participate in Lobby Day and helps ensure educators have a strong, unified voice at the Capitol.

Not yet a PACE contributor? You can join when you register for Lobby Day or by visiting the PACE page to learn more about how your contribution strengthens public education advocacy in Idaho.

Why Lobby Day Matters

Every legislative session brings decisions that affect Idaho's public schools, including school funding, educator pay, classroom resources, student supports and professional rights.

Those decisions are stronger when lawmakers hear directly from the educators who live those realities every day.

Lobby Day ensures Idaho's education experts have a seat at the table. It gives members the opportunity to speak with one voice on behalf of students, public schools and the profession while building lasting relationships with the policymakers who represent their communities.
