IEA Elections

The Idaho Education Association’s democratic nature is one of its greatest strengths as a union.

Required timelines, guidelines, forms and other paperwork for candidates can be found below. 

MONDAY, NOV. 24, 2025

• Nominations Open–State Delegates to RA
• Nominations Open–IEA BOD & Statewide Positions.
• RA Resume of Candidate, RA Tentative Zones, and RA Election Timeline sent to all LUP’s, Region Presidents, IEA BOD, and Region Directors via email.
• Electronic RA Resume of Candidate link posted to IEA website for online submission.
• IEA Nomination Form, Exhibit K, Board Roles and Responsibilities, and Board Code of Ethics sent to all LUP’s, Region Presidents, IEA BOD, and Region Directors via email; re: IEA Board of Directors seats.
• Election Timeline and Candidate Nomination Forms posted on IEA Website.
• Email sent to members with Candidate Nomination Form & Election Timeline.

DECEMBER 2025

• Nomination and Election Notice in IEA communication mailed to all members. Notice to include: Electronic voting procedures, and to visit the IEA website for more information.
• Reminder to LUPs: Verify their members’ email addresses & cell phone numbers on file with their region office.

MONDAY, JAN. 5, 2026

• Reminder: RA Resume of Candidate Deadline reminder emailed to all LUPs, Region Presidents, IEA BOD, Region Directors.

FRIDAY, JAN. 16, 2026

• Nominations Close–State Delegates to RA. Deadline for submission of State RA Resume of Candidate Forms; all nomination forms must be received by the IEA President by this deadline.
• Deadline for submission of Constitution and Bylaw Amendments to the IEA Board of Directors for review.

SATURDAY, JAN. 17, 2026

• IEA Board of Directors will review the list of candidates for RA and approve and the finalized RA zones based on January 15th membership numbers.
• IEA Board of Directors will review and approve the finalized RA and IEA Statewide Elections and BOD seats election timeline.

TUESDAY, FEB. 10, 2026

• Reminder: IEA Board of Directors and statewide position Candidate Nomination forms reminder emailed to all LUPs, Region Presidents, IEA BOD, Region Directors.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 11, 2026

• Election Opens–State Delegates to RA: Voting credentials for state RA delegates sent to all eligible members’ email addresses.

TUESDAY, FEB. 17, 2026

• Nominations Close–IEA BOD & Statewide Positions. Deadline for IEA Board of Directors and statewide position Candidate Nomination Forms; all nomination forms must be received by the IEA President by this deadline.

THURSDAY, FEB. 19, 2026

• Election Closes – State Delegates to RA: 5:00 PM MDT, electronic balloting for state RA delegates closes.

FRIDAY, FEB. 20, 2026

• State delegates to RA: Candidates notified of election results, results announced again at Delegate Assembly.
• RA Delegates encouraged to begin raising money for NEAFCPE. 

MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2026

• Deadline for DA: All local delegates for IEA Delegate Assembly are due by this deadline; all delegate lists must be submitted online at www.idahoea.org/delegates.

FRIDAY-SATURDAY, APRIL 17-18: 

• Delegate Assembly, Boise

MONDAY, APRIL 20, 2026

• Elections GOTV postcard mailed to all voting members.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 6, 2026

• Election Opens–IEA BOD & Statewide Positions. Voting credentials for open seats and Constitution Amendments emailed to eligible members.

THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2026

• Election Closes–IEA BOD & Statewide Positions. 5:00 PM MDT electronic balloting closes.

FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2026

• IEA BOD & Statewide Positions: Candidates notified of election results.
