Propose a Legislative Guide Amendment

IEA’s Legislative Guide directs the union's education policy work at the state level. The guide is structured around six principles ensuring excellence in public education: student achievement, professional development, school/community relations, early career educator support, professional advocacy, adequate funding and compensation and equity in education. Any IEA member may propose an amendment to the Legislative Guide, but must secure the sponsorship of a sitting delegate at IEA's annual Delegate Assembly to put the proposal formally before the body.
