The urgency: House Bill 516, which Gov. Brad Little signed into law earlier this month, has put a time limit on payroll deduction for Idaho Education Association member dues.
• Starting July 1, school districts will stop deducting union dues from your paycheck.
• There are no exceptions. If you don’t switch before July 1, you will lose your union membership and protections.
Why is this happening?: House Bill 516 is a deliberate legislative attack on your union’s funding and stability. Without a steady dues base, IEA loses resources to fight for your pay, your rights and Idaho’s public schools. Every member who slips through the cracks weakens the whole of the union.
What you can do: Switching takes just a few minutes. By switching to IEA AutoPay, you will route your dues from your bank account or credit card.
• To switch, you will need your membership number, ZIP code, and bank account and routing numbers.
• You may also pay by credit card. Important: Dues routed from your bank account will be charged monthly. Dues paid by your credit card will be charged annually.
