Guidelines for Selection:
- The award will be given annually to an IEA member who has confronted extraordinary challenges in assuring their students, their school, their colleagues, or their profession, have been treated fairly and justly.
- The award will be limited to one award annually.
- Recipients must be members or affiliates of the Idaho Education Association.
- Nominations may come from individual members, groups of members, local Associations, or IEA regions.
- The Awards Subcommittee of the IEA Board of Directors will screen nominations submitted to the Board. The awards subcommittee will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will make the final decision regarding award winners.
- The award will be given at the IEA Delegate Assembly.
- The award will be given only if an acceptable nominee is selected.
- Information about the Larry Caldwell Advocacy Award will be published at least once each year.
- The award will consist of an appropriate plaque. In addition, the name of the award recipient will be engraved on a perpetual plaque on display in the headquarters’ offices of the Idaho Education Association. In addition, payment of the IEA membership dues shall be paid for one award recipient for the ensuing year.
- Travel shall be allotted to the award recipient per current IEA per diem to attend the IEA Award Ceremony at Delegate Assembly. (07,17)
