Every dollar goes to pro-public education candidates of both parties.
What is PACE?
The Political Action Committee for Education was founded by educators, for educators. We support candidates of either party who stand up for fully funded public schools, local control, and pragmatic policy based on input from real Idahoans.

What is May Matters?
IEA’s members may span the political spectrum, but they’re united: It’s time to give radical, special-interest candidates the boot. May Matters is the union’s campaign to restore a pro-public school majority to the Idaho Legislature. By voting in the election that matters — the May 2026 Republican Primary — voters can deliver a win for Idaho’s public schools.
The countdown to the election that matters is on.

FAQs
Who can donate to PACE?
PACE has traditionally been open to IEA members and their families. At Delegate Assembly 2025, IEA membership voted to open PACE to contributions from the general public until after the 2026 Idaho Republican Primary.
Do IEA dues dollars go to political campaigns?
Absolutely not. IEA dues dollars cannot be given directly to candidates, and only volunteer contributions to PACE can be used for electioneering activities.
Does IEA only support Democrats?
No. IEA members support pro-public education candidates — period. For decades, members have knocked doors, phone banked and contributed to candidates from both parties. To members, support for a general, uniform and thorough system of public, free common schools isn’t partisan. It’s simply smart for our state, smart for our democracy and smart for our children’s future.
How will my money be used?
PACE contributes directly to the election efforts of pro-public education political candidates in Idaho.
Can I donate if I live out-of-state?
Yes. We recognize that people from around the country are talking about Idaho and want to make a difference.
How can I manage my current PACE contribution?

Terms and Conditions
IEA’s Political Action Committee for Education (PACE) collects voluntary contributions from IEA members and the public and uses those contributions for political purposes, including supporting pro-public education candidates for state or local office.
Contributions to PACE are voluntary. Making a contribution to PACE is not a condition of membership in the union and members have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal. Although PACE may request a specific annual contribution, this is only a suggestion. A member may contribute more or less than the suggested amount or may contribute nothing at all without it affecting their membership status, rights, or benefits as a member of IEA or its affiliates.
