Periodically California Casualty (a business partner with IEA Member benefits since 1988) awards IEA members a grant which assists in educating Idaho’s students in the areas of music and arts.  They have recently awarded two IEA members with those grants.

Adam Smith applied for and was granted funds for his school to purchase additional art supplies to create projects that are culturally relevant to his Native American students at Fort Hall Elementary.

Also receiving an award was Shantelle Gillis at Northside Elementary. Shantelle highlighted in her application how important art is to her students. The grant funding will support an art paraprofessional and provide a budget for supplies, benefiting all students at Northside Elementary.

Congratulations to these two IEA members.  Their students will benefit.  And…also thank you to California Casualty for providing these grants to assist in educating Idaho students.

California Casualty accepts applications for the Music & Arts Grant year-round! To apply for your school, complete the online application at calcasmusicartsgrant.com. Applications received by July 15, 2026 will be notified of their status by November 30, 2026. Applications received after July 15, 2026 will be considered for an award during the next program cycle.
