Why it matters: Most members use only a fraction of the benefits and resources their membership already includes. If you’re one of those members, Idahoea.org can help you fix that!

Help a Student, Fast

The IEA Children's Fund lets members request grants for students whose families can't cover the basics: shoes, winter coats, groceries, glasses, dental work, medicine. Most grants are approved and paid within 10 working days! The Children’s Fund is one of the most cherished programs in the union and has granted more than $1.5 million since its inception. Request a grant or donate now.

Get Paid

If you travel for IEA events, you may be eligible for expense reimbursement. Boring? Yes — until you get reimbursed. Find it here. (You must be logged into the Members Only section of the website to access the form.)

Free Benefits

Did you know that you have access to no-cost term life insurance, $1,000 in travel savings dollars, two free magazine subscriptions per year, or a student debt navigator that can help you save $2,000 per year? Those are just some of the amazing perks available through IEA Member Benefits. Take advantage of yours today!

Teach and Learn With an Equity Lens

One of the site’s newest pages, Racial and Social Equity Resources was developed by the Idaho Education Association Human and Civil Rights Committee.

“Since joining the HCR committee, we’ve been exploring ways to make resources easily accessible to our members,” said HCR Committee Chair Julia Smulkowski. “One of our charges is to develop resources that support learning, education, and activism to help eliminate institutional racism in Idaho. With the website’s recent update and the addition of member-only content, we saw an opportunity to bring that goal to life. We’re pleased with how it turned out and hope these resources support members in their personal journeys of exploring bias and provide ideas and tools they can use in the classroom.” Find it here.

Dive Into Your Union's History

Did you know that IEA is responsible for many of the education standards we now take for granted, including teacher certification and free public high schools? You can learn about the incredible history of the union for free by reading “Voices of Courage, Champions of Excellence: The Story of the Idaho Education Association Since 1892,” which was commissioned for the union’s 120th anniversary. Change the Union Itself

Have an idea you’d like to bring before members? Propose a New Business Item (NBI). Every approved NBI is debated and voted on by delegates at the union’s annual Delegate Assembly, where the business of the union is settled for the year ahead. (You’ll need to log into the members-only section of the website.) Start the process now.
