Participants will learn the importance of planning based on objectives, audience, and expectations, as well as preparation skills, performance strategies and how to reflect and polish the training. Participants work with mentors to create an outline for their training with objectives, a course outline and strategies. Participants will also work independently to start to work on the different segments of their training. Emphasis will be on understanding professional development needs of trainers to ensure that the Experiential Learning Cycle is incorporated into the training design to enhance the quality of the training. Participants will understand the role and function of climate in training. Completing this course is a requirement for IEA members who would like to become certified trainers for the IEA Center for Teaching and Learning.
