Two lucky Idaho Education Association members will win Target gift cards just in time for back-to-school — if they switch to IEA AutoPay before the Aug. 31 deadline.
Any IEA member still using payroll deduction that switches to IEA AutoPay this week or next will be entered to win one of these two prizes as part of the IEA AutoPay Last Chance Giveaway:
- $400 Target gift card for those who switch Aug. 18-24 (just one day left!)
- $200 Target gift card for those who switch Aug. 25-31
IEA Autopay is a proactive effort to fight anti-public education politicians’ efforts to eliminate payroll deduction as a way to pay union membership dues — with the intent to shrink membership and weaken the union. It’s a union-busting tactic that has had success in states like Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky and Arkansas.

“High-stakes issues will be on the table during the 2025 Idaho legislative session, so switching to IEA AutoPay very important,” said Chris Parri, IEA’s political director. “The best way for IEA members to protect their union from this attack is to switch before the Aug. 31 deadline.”
PARRI TALKS ABOUT THE COMING LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Educator unions in other states where payroll deduction was stripped suddenly lost every member paying their dues through that method. For some statewide unions it created an existential crisis.
May’s primary elections, which saw several key public education allies lose their seats in the Idaho Legislature to extremist challengers, added extra emphasis to the need for union members to make the switch.
“Anti-public education politicians are already planning how to weaken the IEA — and stripping your ability to pay your dues through payroll deduction will likely be at the top of their list,” Parri said.
