The 2019 Summer Insitute is four days of the best professional development available for public school educators and support staff offered in the state of Idaho. Our theme this year is “Chart Your Course” and with our fun nautical inspired theme, you are the Captain!

You will be able to personalize your training schedule for each day of Summer Institute. The first two days are full-day training sessions, the third and fourth day have a variety of sessions divided into 90-minute segments. This allows you to choose the professional development offerings that best meet your needs as you chart the course of your career. For $60 per credit, you can earn up to three (3) NNU credits when you attend all four days of the Institute.

REGISTRATION / CHECK-IN / SOCIAL:

Registration and dorm check-in will take place the evening of Tuesday, July 23. Check-in begins at 4 pm in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. Stick around in the Ballroom and join us for the Bon Voyage Social which runs from 4 pm to 6 pm and will feature appetizers, a No-Host Sand-Bar, music, vendor tables and a “Picture Your Inner Pirate” Photo Booth. Also, bring your items to donate to the “Treasure Island Silent Auction” to benefit the IEA Political Action Committee.

SCHEDULE:

The four-day Summer Institute begins with breakfast, Wednesday, July 24 at 7:30 am. The first two days of the Institute will feature five (5) full-day professional development sessions to choose from to add skills to your wheelhouse. On the third and fouth day, you will choose from a variety of 90-minute (some are longer) sessions that fall within these six (6) strands: Trending Ideas in Education, Technology, Leadership and Mentoring, Classroom Basics, Self-Preservation, and Diving Into Your Association.

Once you register, you will receive a link to chart your training schedule. You must complete your class registration in order to guarantee your spot in a class. Don’t let this ship sail without you – classes will fill quickly!

COST:

It pays to be a member of the IEA Crew! IEA members attend for FREE including breakfast and lunch each day of the Institute, an air conditioned dorm room, and carpooling reimbursement at .25/mile. A small deposit used to guarantee your spot will be fully refunded shortly after your attendance at the Institute. Members from North Idaho will be able to travel in style on a chartered Fun Bus! More details will be sent to NOC members.

Non-IEA members may attend the Institute by paying a (non-refundable) registration fee of $250 for days 1 & 2 and $250 for days 3 & 4, or $500 for all four days. Non-members are responsible for their own travel, lodging costs and arrangements, but are provided breakfast and lunch each day of the Institute.

Up to 3 credits are available for those who attend the entire Institute.
