Got an idea for the Reporter? We want to hear from you!

This is where you can submit items for Reporter’s Commentary section, a Photo of the Week, or a Member Note about yourself or one of your colleagues. You can also email Mike Journee, IEA’s communications director, at mjournee@idahoea.org with any other suggestions, questions or concerns.

Here’s what you need to know:
All submitted items must be related to the work of the IEA to be considered for publication. Be sure to complete all of the required fields in the submission form. Please remember that IEA reserves the right to edit any and all submitted items for clarity, brevity and/or style before publication. IEA also reserves right to decline publication of any items submitted. While we cannot guarantee your item will be published, we can promise to give your submission due consideration and will make every effort to include it in Reporter or another IEA communication venue in a timely and effective manner.

Types of Submissions:

Submitting an item for the Commentary section? Tell your fellow members what’s on your mind about your profession and public education in Idaho, but please keep your essay to 750 words or less. And don’t forget to send us a photo of yourself!

Submitting a potential Photo of the Week? A picture is worth a thousand words, so show us what’s happening with your local education association with a photo. Events, meetings, member engagement — it’s all fair game, but please remember that your fellow members want to see faces. Also please be sure identify everyone in the photo and include the ‘what, when, where and why’ when submitting your caption.

Submitting a Member Note? This is where you can brag about yourself and your colleagues. Tell our readers about career or union engagement milestones — degrees or certifications earned, papers published, participation in conferences or other professional development. And we know educators hate bragging about themselves, but that shouldn’t stop you from bragging on your colleagues. Just be sure to include their photo with your submission.
