IEA Board Election in May 2024
Six seats on the Idaho Education Association Board of Directors will be on the May election ballot for 2024 election cycle. They are seats representing:
- Region 2 (Moscow-Lewiston area)
- Region 4 (Magic Valley area)
- Region 6 (Idaho Falls-Salmon area)
- Region 9 (West Ada)
- Aspiring Educator (Statewide)

IEA Board Election in May 2025
Ten seats on the Idaho Education Association Board of Directors will be on the May election ballot for 2025 election cycle. They are seats representing:
- NEA Director
- At-Large
- Retired
- Aspiring Educator
- Region 1 (Coeur d’Alene area)
- Region 3 (Payette/McCall/Middleton areas)
- Region 5 (Pocatello area)
- Region 7 (Boise area)
- Region 8 (Nampa/Caldwell/Mountain Home area)
- Region 9 (West Ada)

May 1, 2024
- Deadline: Voting credentials for open seats and constitution amendments emailed to eligible members
May 9, 2024
- Deadline: 5 p.m. (MDT) electronic balloting closes
May 10, 2024
- Ballots counted and all candidates notified of results
Tentative 2024-2025 Election Timeline
December 9, 2024
- Nominations open for state RA delegates and IEA Board of Directors seats
- RA resumes of candidates, RA tentative zones, and RA election timeline sent to all LUPs, region presidents, IEA BOD and region directors via email
- Electronic resumes of candidates posted to IEA website for online submission
- IEA nomination form, exhibit K, board roles and responsibilities, and board code of ethics sent to all LUPs, region presidents, IEA BOD and region directors via email (re: IEA Board of Directors seats)
- Election timeline and candidate nomination form posted on IEA website
- Email sent to members with candidate nomination form and election timeline
December 2024
- Nomination and election notice in IEA communication mailed to all members
- Notice to include: information about electronic voting procedures and to visit the IEA website for more information
- Reminder to LUPs to verify their members’ email addresses on file with their region offices
January 6, 2025
- RA resume of candidate deadline reminder emailed to all LUPs, region presidents, IEA BOD and region directors
January 24, 2025
- Deadline for submission of state RA resume of candidate forms
- Forms must be sent to IEA president. Forms must be hand delivered, electronically received or a hard copy received by this date
January 31, 2025
- Deadline for submission of constitution and bylaw amendments to the IEA Board of Directors for review
February 1, 2025
- IEA Board of Directors will review and approve RA candidate list and finalized RA zones based on January 15 membership numbers
- IEA Board of Directors will review and approve the finalized RA
February 3, 2025
- IEA Board of Directors and statewide position candidate nomination forms reminder emailed to all LUPs, region presidents, IEA BOD, region directors
- Deadline for IEA board of directors and statewide position candidate nomination forms. Forms must be sent to IEA president. Forms must be hand delivered, electronically received, or a hard copy received by this date
February 12, 2025
- Deadline: Voting credentials for state RA delegates sent to all eligible members’ email addresses
February 18, 2025
- Deadline: All local delegates for Delegate Assembly are due to the IEA Headquarters Office. Delegate lists are to be submitted online at www.idahoea.org/delegates
February 20, 2025
- Deadline: 5 p.m. MDT electronic balloting for state RA delegates closes
February 21, 2025
- RA ballots counted and candidates notified of results; results announced again at Delegate Assembly
- RA delegates encouraged to begin raising money for NEAFCPE
April 4-5, 2025
- Delegate Assembly
April 14, 2025
- Elections GOTV postcard mailed to all voting members
April 23, 2025
