Summer Institute 2024 Registration is Now Open

April 19, 2024

The four best and most anticipated days of professional development for Idaho educators — IEA’s Summer Institute — are queued up for July 24-27 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.

No less than 63 separate classes, including eight online offerings, offer professional and personal learning in topics from educator self-care and student loan forgiveness to career advancement and the politics of education. This year’s Summer Institute will also feature continuing education opportunities on dyslexia to help educators meet new re-certification requirements set by the State of Idaho before the 2025 deadline.

Offered by IEA’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Summer Institute provides an atmosphere for networking and camaraderie — all while earning up to four free professional development credits from Idaho State University.

The four-day conference is free for IEA members, including lodging and meals. A members-only code for free registration can be obtained by emailing Non-member educators may attend for a fee or can join the IEA here.

“The Center for Teaching and Learning provides professional development opportunities for educators all year long,” said Linda Jones, CTL executive director. “But Summer Institute is by far our most popular training opportunity. It’s a great way for educators to recharge and dig deep in areas they want to explore.”

Participants can personalize their training schedule for each day from a variety of 90-minute, half-day, and full-day sessions. This year’s theme for the conference is “Adventure Awaits.
