Why it matters: The Center for Teaching and Learning’s most anticipated annual educational gathering offers four days of no-cost professional development for Idaho Education Association members. Non-member educators are welcome, too, for a small fee.
The big story: IEA member registration is now open for Summer Institute, happening July 30-August 2 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
Free for members: Summer Institute is a complete package, including lodging on campus, meals, and up to four professional recertification credits through Idaho State University.
Theme and keynote: In keeping with this year’s theme, “The Stories that Shape Us,” the Summer Institute keynote speaker will be Jodi Eichelberger, former Broadway performer and host of Story Story Night.
• Attendees will have the chance to be part of the keynote, too — during online registration, attendees will be asked if they would like to submit a story from their teaching experience. A very limited number of attendees will be chosen to share their stories during the keynote.
Bookmark your spot: IEA member registration is open now. Non-member registrations open May 1 (for a fee).
Reading between the lines: The event, offered through IEA’s Center for Teaching and Learning, represents the association’s flagship professional development opportunity of the year.
• For educators seeking both professional growth and personal connection, the institute provides a rare combination of structured learning and community building, all in a few action-packed and rejuvenating days.
The next chapter: Interested educators should register using password ACCESS25. Non-members can secure spots by joining the IEA or waiting until May for potential remaining openings.
