Melyssa Ferro to be Honored as One of the Idaho Business Review’s 2024 Women of the Year

June 28, 2024

Caldwell Education Association member Melyssa Ferro was recently named one of the Idaho Business Review’s Women of the Year awards nominees.

Ferro was one of just 50 women selected from hundreds of entries. The nominees will gather at the annual awards gala on Sept. 19 in Boise, where one of them will be named Woman of the Year.

The IBR’s Women of the Year awards have become an anticipated tradition since their inception 19 years ago. Past recipients include entrepreneurs, educators, politicians, attorneys, philanthropists, public servants and medical professionals.

Women of the Year recipients must be nominated by members of the community. According to the Idaho Business Review, nominees are selected based on professional achievement, leadership, mentorship and community service.

Ferro is a science teacher at Syringa Middle School, a member of the Idaho Education Association Board of Directors and a former Idaho Teacher of the Year. She will teach a session, “Enhancing Teacher Productivity: Unleashing the Power of AI Apps,” at this year’s Summer Institute
