The big picture: The Idaho Education Association communications team won the awards at the State Education Association Communicators (SEAComm) Conference in Minneapolis, Minn., late last month. Communicators from state education unions around the country participate in the conference and awards.
What they won:
• Digital Organizer Pamela Craig won for her digital and social media strategy and use during the 2025 Idaho legislative session.
• Communications Director Mike Journee earned honors for the IEA Reporter Podcast.
• Communications Specialist Julie Sarasqueta got a nod for a feature story about an administrator member.
• The entire team, plus outside vendor BrandCraft, took home an award for IEA’s “Because of an Educator” campaign.
Why it matters: “Thanks to the help and backing of IEA members, the union’s communications team has expanded its staffing, efforts, production and outreach over the past 18 months,” Journee said. “It’s been hard and rewarding work, and our team is humbled to be honored by our colleagues throughout the United States.”
