Board members of the Idaho Education Association-affiliated Center for Teaching and Learning recently opened their call for proposals for 2025 Summer Institute classes. The four most anticipated days of professional development for Idaho educators, next year’s Summer Institute is queued up for July 30-Aug. 2 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
The deadline for submitting a class proposal is Feb. 3.

“The classes offered at Summer Institute, like all CTL offerings, are designed and taught by IEA members,” said CTL Board Chair Kathy Davis. “We want the best, most relevant and most impactful classes possible for our Summer Institute participants. If you have a skill, a process or a passion that you think would benefit your fellow educators, send us a proposal.”
Offered by the Center for Teaching and Learning and free for IEA members, Summer Institute is the premier professional development opportunity for educators in Idaho. Attendees learn from fellow educators, share their experiences, and earn up to four continuing education credits from Idaho State University.
“Perhaps the best part of Summer Institute is how it offers educators an opportunity recharge and dig deep into areas of their profession that they want to explore,” Davis said.
CTL provides professional development opportunities for educators all year long. Its annual Summer Institute, by far its most popular training opportunity, offers an atmosphere for networking and camaraderie — and all while earning up to four professional development credits.
2025 Summer Institute’s theme is “Where the Wild Things Are!”
Registration to attend opens in April. Last summer, around 200 IEA members gathered for classes on everything from classroom management to educator self-care to leveraging AI in the classroom.
