Apply to Take Your Classroom Global with NEA Program

February 7, 2025

Ever wish you could inspire your students to think beyond the bounds of the classroom? If you’re ready to bring a global perspective to your teaching, The National Education Association Foundation has a program for you. The NEA Foundation Global Learning Fellowship is a professional development program designed to help educators expand their knowledge of global education and bring those insights back to their students.

Selected fellows participate in year-long learning experiences that include virtual workshops, group mentoring, a capstone project, and an international field study. More than 500 educators have taken part since the program began in 2011, including eight from Idaho.

Fellowship highlights include:

• Workshops and webinars to help you gain insights into global competency and how to integrate it into your teaching.

Independent study and reflection during which you may explore educational topics of your choice and engage in discussions with other fellows.

• Group mentoring to allow you to collaborate with peers and experts to develop global learning strategies.

• A two-day in-person conference to network and deepen your understanding of global education.

• A capstone project that incorporates the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into classroom instruction.

• International field study, including a 10-day immersive experience to examine another country’s education system, culture and historical context.

The application deadline is Monday, April 7; you can apply at NEAFoundation.org. For additional questions, contact GrantsAndPrograms@nea.org.
