There are still a few days for would-be candidates to fill six seats on IEA’s Board of Directors to be nominated or declare their candidacy to be on the ballot for the April 23-May 1 election.
Meanwhile, the nomination of candidates to be an Idaho delegate to the National Education Association’s 2024 Representative Assembly (RA) closed on Friday. Twenty-four candidates have put their names in the hat for an expected 15 Idaho seats at NEA RA in Portland this July.
Nominations for Board of Director candidates will be accepted until the close of business on Monday, Feb. 3.
“Our member-driven, democratic union can thrive only when our members step forward to be leaders,” said Layne McInelly, IEA President. “Your participation and engagement can only make us stronger and even more reflective of the priorities you are passionate about.”
The final statewide election to select RA delegates will be held online Feb. 12-20, while the election to select board members will be held April 23-May 1. All IEA members will receive an online ballot via email for both votes.
