Native Land Acknowledgments

Resources and information for Idaho Education Association members about using land acknowledgments to honor the five federally-recognized Indigenous tribes of Idaho.

Voted on and passed by the body of IEA's delegate assembly in April 2024 to:

  • create broader public awareness about Indigenous history
  • repair relationships with Native communities
  • learn from Indigenous protocols of opening up space with reverence and respect
  • support reconciliation efforts and inspire ongoing action
