Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain (Book Study) | Online Course
This book study course, focused on Zaretta Hammond’s Culturally Responsive Teaching & the Brain, is designed for educators looking to integrate culturally responsive teaching (CRT) with insights from neuroscience. Participants will explore how brain science informs effective strategies for engaging diverse learners and creating inclusive classrooms that promote academic success and social-emotional growth. Through readings, discussions, and reflective activities, educators will learn to apply brain-based techniques for fostering trust, autonomy, critical thinking, and resilience, ensuring all students are supported in their learning. By the end of the 3 session course, educators will have the tools and understanding to create equitable learning environments that help all students thrive.
Before we meet, I would like for you to have purchased the book and have read the Introduction and chapters 1-3. We only have 3 sessions to get through the entire book so coming prepared is crucial for us to stay on task.
