IEA’s delegation during floor action at this week’s NEA Representative Assembly in Chicago.
Idaho was well-represented this week at the National Education Association’s 2022 Representative Assembly.
Thirty-three Idaho Education Association leaders and members (including one virtual delegate) representing local education associations across the state attended the three-day event in Chicago to represent IEA members on the national stage.
Delegates reported 12-15 hour days between caucusing and floor votes on NEA constitutional amendments, new standing rules and new business items.
“I’m always amazed at the hard work and dedication of members who give up some of their summer to do the work of public education at the national level,” said RA delegate and IEA President Layne McInelly. “These 33 people who represented Idaho educators in Chicago did phenomenal work and are great leaders in our association.”
