The IEA’s annual Lobby Day is fast approaching. This is when IEA PACE (Political Action Committee for Education) members gather in Boise and go over to the Capitol to attend committee meetings and share their stories with the legislators who make decisions on public education funding and policy. Lobby Day will take place January 17th at the Capitol, with a dinner the night before featuring a special keynote speaker and attendance from some of the key legislators involved in education.
This legislative session promises to be a pivotal one for Idaho public schools, students, and professional educators. Letting lawmakers know what is really happening in our classrooms, and what we need to help students succeed, is more important than ever before. Lobby Day is a key component of our political engagement with legislators.
