The Idaho Education Association’s Annual Meeting and Delegate Assembly for 2018 will take place April 20-21 at the Boise Centre in downtown Boise. Delegates will develop the policies that provide direction for Association leadership and chart the course for the IEA going forward. As a democratic organization, the IEA values the input and voice of its members, and Delegate Assembly is the most noteworthy example of our commitment to following the direction set by our membership.
Delegates are elected through voting by local associations, and each local conducts their balloting independently and on their own timelines. Contact your local association for information on voting dates, as well as how you can become a delegate. Delegates also have the opportunity to participate with groups such as the ESP Caucus and the Women’s and Minority Caucus, as well as take part in fundraisers for the IEA Children’s Fund and the GR-PACE Committee.
Another highlight of the Annual Meeting and Delegate Assembly is the presentation of the IEA’s annual awards. More information about the awards, including procedures for nominations, can be found on our website at http://idahoea.org/iea-awards/.
