Want to Help Build a Vibrant
Local Education Association?
Inviting your colleagues to stand together is fundamental to your local chapter’s success. Strong local associations make legislative success and electoral wins at the district and state level possible. It all starts with one-on-one organizing conversations with colleagues in your building.
Be an IEA GEM!
This summer, IEA is hand-selecting a small cohort of elite member organizers from southwest Idaho chapters for an exclusive training called Growing Engaged Members or GEMs.
The 12-week IEA GEMs program starts July 12 with an initial day-long course led by NEA and IEA organizing experts. As a GEM, you learn the key to energizing your local’s membership and build bridges that turn potential members into enthusiastic additions to your local’s robustly growing membership rolls.
In the build-up to the annual back-to-school membership drive, expect to dedicate 5-7 hours a week to focused trainings, customized and consistent support and follow-up with IEA trainers, cohort consultations, and other opportunities to build your success as an organizer extraordinaire.
If selected, you will earn $25 an hour to train and work as a GEM.
