This Presidents' Day Weekend, a series of statewide rallies will give Idaho educators, parents, and students a chance to stand in support of public schools and public employees.
Here’s a list of events planned so far. They're all on MONDAY, February 21, unless otherwise noted. We’ll add more as they’re organized:
Lewiston (Saturday, February 19) – Lewis-Clark State College, by the library – 3 p.m.
Idaho Falls – Sportsmans Park (next to Key Bank) – 11 a.m.
Pocatello – Corner of Oak and Yellowstone – 11 a.m.
Blackfoot – Cammack Park – 11:30 a.m.
Boise – Capitol Park – Noon
Moscow – Friendship Square – Noon
Twin Falls – Twin Falls City Park – 2 p.m.
Coeur d’Alene – City Hall – 4 p.m.
Hailey – Along Main Street – 4 p.m.
Nampa – Lakeview Park – 4:30 p.m.
Payette – Payette Community Center – 6 p.m.
In addition, several communities have made plans for information tables where people can stop by and get information on the plan. These include early afternoon Sunday in downtown Cascade and 10 to noon Monday in front of the Middleton Library.
We'll update the list as more events are announced. Also, there's a series of statewide rallies on Saturday, February 19, to protest steep cuts planned for health and welfare services in Idaho. Plan to attend one in your area to speak up for Idahoans who need Medicaid and other vital services.
