The awards focus on key areas of IEA’s advocacy for Idaho students, educators and public education, including strong relationships with policymakers, parents and the community.
In all, 12 separate awards are available to IEA members and those who fight for public education in Idaho.
The nomination deadline for 2024 awards is Jan. 19.
“Many, many people share in the hard work of protecting and improving public education in Idaho, but efforts of some truly shine bright,” said Wendy Smith, chair of IEA’s Awards Committee and a member of IEA’s Board of Directors. “IEA’s annual awards are for those people — IEA members and others — who go above and beyond in their advocacy for public education.”
Awardees are recognized during a ceremony at IEA’s annual Delegate Assembly in April. Last year, ten public education advocates and IEA members were celebrated.
