The Idaho Education Association recently unveiled two videos that portray the great work our members have been doing staying connected with students and parents during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Dating all the way back to March when school buildings around the state were first shut down to protect public health, and fast-forwarding to the current situation of educators navigating the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, these videos capture the extra work and dedication of IEA members.
The 30-second commercials recently aired on television stations around the state, as well as on various digital platforms. You may have seen them pop up as pre-rolls to digital content you have been watching.
Here are links to the two videos. We encourage you to share them widely with colleagues and friends.
Thank You focuses on the appreciation many parents have expressed as educators have juggled in-person and online instruction, and the new appreciation they have for the complexities of a teacher’s job.
Together We Can looks at the cooperation needed between educators, parents, and students to keep everyone safe and continue providing as much in-person instruction as possible.
In addition to the commercials airing around the state, we are collecting stories from IEA members about the more grim realities of the COVID-19 crisis—increased workloads, stress and anxiety, and concern about the physical and mental well-being of students. We encourage you to submit a short video about your experiences to the Great Idaho Public Schools Facebook page. You can also view the stories shared by your colleagues around Idaho on this page.
