Seven Idaho educators are featured in new statewide television ads in which each offers one reason they are passionate about their jobs. The educators and their messages are:
“I love when my students achieve more than they thought was possible. I am the IEA.” – Tim Sandford, Lake City High School, Coeur d’Alene
“I teach to inspire my students and be inspired by them. I am the IEA.” – Lisa Hoffeld, Mullan Trail Elementary School, Post Falls
“I love watching students grow into successful members of my community. I am the IEA.” – Trish Borchers, Moscow Junior High School
“I teach to help students make connections to the world. I am the IEA.” – Sonia Galaviz, Endeavor Elementary School, Nampa
“I love helping students discover the power and magic of music. I am the IEA.” – Ted Hadley, Twin Falls School District
“I teach because quality education today helps build strong leaders for tomorrow. I am the IEA.” – Layne McInelly, Morley Nelson Elementary School, Boise
“I do what I do because education builds positive futures. I am the IEA.” – Janette Duarte, Eagle Rock Junior High School, Idaho Falls
The TV ads started this week and will run through January. They’re also available to view online.
Because only a few educators could appear in the ads, the IEA has also launched a new Facebook page, Thank Idaho Educators, where Idahoans can write a brief note of thanks to a teacher who has made a difference in their life or the life of a child they know. In addition to appearing online, the notes will be compiled into a large thank-you card that will tour the state later this year.
