Center for Teaching and Learning Trainer Application

Idaho Education Association is seeking members who are interested in leading the profession by exploring the training process, supporting other educators by training, and assisting in developing expertise by creating trainings on timely topics. Selected participants will have the opportunity to learn to create and conduct adult trainings, and some will be invited to train others in this process. To be considered for this professional learning opportunity you need to have taken the Train the Trainers course. Please submit your digital application, resumé, and one letter of reference to ljones@idahoea.org by the APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 15, 2023.

 

What will the IEA do for you?

  • outside professional development opportunities including the development of your NEA Leadership Competencies
  • provide the materials and support
  • professional evaluation and feedback
  • mileage, meals, and accommodations, if needed

 

Expectations for a member of the IEA Trainer Cadre: Three-year commitment

  • First year
    • attend a two-day training in January to develop your skills as a trainer
    • refine your skills as a trainer at two to three mid-year meetings (typically January, March, and May)
    • create an initial presentation to present at the IEA Summer Institute
  • Second year
    • suggest topics that are appropriate for IEA trainings
    • refine and create additional trainings on topics identified by the IEA
    • adapt your initial training to an online environment
    • be prepared to do trainings at various locations upon IEA HQ request
    • present at the IEA Summer Institute
  • Third year
    • update and refine the IEA Trainer Cadre training
    • train the new cadre at the IEA Summer Institute
    • continue to participate in IEA Summer Institute and other IEA HQ identified trainings
  • Actively reflect on your training evaluations during the scheduled meetings
  • Continue to participate in IEA trainings as your schedule allows
