The FY 15 public school appropriation requires districts or vendors to meet or exceed a set of standards established by SBE rule or law. Currently, no such standards exist, but that won’t be the case for long if a bill sponsored by Sen. John Goedde (R-CDA) and printed by the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday morning is approved.
According to an article by Spokesman-Review reporter Betsy Russell, the legislation outlines the state requirements, addresses content filtering and security, and mandates that the State Department of Education develop requirements for functionality, performance and reliability.
