House Majority Leader Mike Moyle (R-Meridian) told the IEA that the full House will debate SB 1184, the third Luna bill that swaps teachers for technology, on Friday morning.
This last piece of the Luna plan is unpopular with parents, teachers, administrators, and school board members. Though touted as a significantly different from its predecessor, SB 1184 pushes off the difficult decisions about whether to cut teachers, programs, or salaries to the local district, while still requiring the purchase and distribution of “mobile computing devices” and online courses.
