Annually, the college and university presidents make their way to Boise to make a pitch for additional funding. This week is typically dubbed “Education Week” at the Capitol.
University presidents will be making presentations to the House and Senate education committees and Superintendent Luna will present his K-12 public schools budget recommendation to the Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee (JFAC) on Thursday.
On Wednesday of this week, the House and Senate Education Committees will hear from a panel of individuals who both support and oppose the Idaho Core Standards. The questions for the panel discussion have been provided by members of the public. No testimony will be taken at the event, but the public is welcome. The panel discussion begins at 3 pm in the Lincoln Auditorium at the Idaho Capitol. You can also listen over the internet at Idaho in Session: Legislature Live.
