Approximately 100 protesters blocked entry to Senate committee meeting rooms Thursday afternoon forcing the cancellation of early afternoon Senate committee meetings and causing Senate Education Chair John Goedde (R-CDA) to delay the start of his committee meeting.
Protestors began blocking entry to the hallway of the Senate committee rooms over the noon hour, making it impossible for some lawmakers to make it to their offices. Other lawmakers spent more than two hours stuck in committee rooms or offices until Idaho State Police officers began making arrests around 3 pm.
The Senate Education Committee was able to meet and complete their agenda before Senators returned to the floor for a late afternoon session.
