The House Education Committee will hear a controversial private school voucher bill Friday morning. New science standards, including references to climate change, were enacted by a vote in the Senate Education Committee.
Two important pieces of legislation are due to be heard shortly. A private school voucher bill opposed by the IEA will be heard Friday by the House Education Committee, and Idaho’s science standards will be heard by the Senate Education Committee Thursday afternoon.
JFAC approved a 5.9% increase to the K-12 public education budget for next year, including funding of the Career Ladder. A bill to allow charter schools to bypass some current hiring requirements for administrators was held until Thursday by the House Education Committee.
