Dr. Don Coberly, Superintendent of the Boise School District, was harshly critical of the “Don’t Fail Idaho” advertising campaign in a communication sent to teachers and other district personnel. He also called into question the motives of the organization behind the campaign, the J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation.
SB 1248, which would allow public charter schools to bypass the standard teacher contract approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction and issue whatever contracts they desire, passed the Idaho Senate by a 22-13 vote
SB 1248 will not require charter schools to use the standard teacher contract approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Instead, the bill will allow charter schools to use a contract of their own creation.
