The committee also heard remarks from one of the profession’s best and brightest, as Galaviz shared context about her upbringing in North Idaho, keys to her professional practice at Garfield Elementary in Boise, and guidance for the legislature as they contemplate education issues.
Having already passed the Senate, legislation that would make Pupil Service Staff eligible for Master Educator Premiums (designation would be changed from Master Teacher Premiums if this bill passes) cleared the House Education Committee and will now go the full House.
Thanks in large part to the overwhelming response from IEA members and other concerned parties, H0258 has been pulled from the House Education Committee agenda and is not expected to resurface this year.
