Petitions will be everywhere this weekend

Idaho’s spring festival season is in full swing, and there are nearly 45 opportunities this weekend to sign petitions that will allow Idaho voters the opportunity to weigh in on three education reform laws passed by the 2011 Idaho Legislature.

Volunteers from Idahoans for Responsible Education Reform and the Idaho Education Association are collecting signatures on each of three petitions to put Senate Bills 1108, 1110, and 1184 to a vote next year.

Whether visiting special events or out running weekend errands, people who’d like to sign the petitions on Saturday will find them at many locations including:

Blackfoot – Home and Outdoor Show

Boise – Capital City Market

Bonners Ferry – Community Breakfast

Burley – High School Rodeo

Caldwell – Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast; 10th & Blaine Streets; Verizon Store Public Signing; West Valley Run-Walk

Cascade – Fishing Derby

Coeur d’Alene – Wine Extravaganza

Emmett – Washington Street parking lot

Idaho Falls –Sunnyside Elementary 5K Fundraiser; Kite Festival; Albertsons, Holmes & 17th

Kellogg – 7th Annual Leadman

Lewiston – Hells Gate State Park Community Yard Sale; Rosauers

Meridian – Settler’s Park; Eagle & Fairview

Moscow – Farmers Market; Relay for Life; Renaissance Fair  

Nampa – 12th Ave & Greenhurst; Hwy 55 and Nampa-Caldwell Blvd.; Lakeview Park; Idaho Center

Orofino – Community Clean-Up/Arbor Day Celebration

Payette – Payette Auto Parts

Pocatello – Corner of Jefferson and Alameda; Farmers Market

Post Falls – Walmart, both locations; Indoor Garage Sale at the Greyhound Park

Rigby – Bountiful Baskets; Broulim’s

Shoshone – 5K Run and Car Wash
