More than one-third of education support professionals working in the U.S. make less than $25,000 a year, and on average, they make below a living wage in all 50 states. Here, Mietta Sibert, an ESP from Caldwell, signs a pledge of support for the National Education Association’s ESP Bill of Rights, which calls on education leaders and policy makers to invest in ESPs, respect their professional expertise and recognize their vital contributions to student learning and well-being. Sibert signed the pledge as part of Idaho’s delegation to the NEA ESP National Conference in Las Vegas last weekend.
Submitting a potential Photo of the Week? A picture is worth a thousand words, so show us what’s happening with your local education association with a photo. Events, meetings, member engagement — it’s all fair game, but please remember that your fellow members want to see faces. Also please be sure identify everyone in the photo and include the ‘what, when, where and why’ when submitting your caption.
