September 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

Kari Overall, a teacher at South Junior High in Boise, is the new Idaho member for the National Education Association's Board of Directors following an online election that took place August 31 through September 14.

Overall is a graduate of the University of Idaho and she has her master's degree from Lesley University. She will complete the term for Penni Cyr, who vacated the position after being elected Idaho Education Association President this spring.

Congratulations to Overall and thanks to Kristi Milan of Coeur d'Alene for running, too.

In other news, Sara Pence has been selected to serve as a student representative to the NEA  Resolutions Committee. Pence is president of the University of Idaho-North Idaho College campus chapter of the IEA Student Program and the recipient of the 2011 IEA Teacher Training Award.
