How do I register to vote?
Idaho allows for voter registration either prior to or on Election Day. An elector must be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years of age, be a resident for 30 days prior to the election, not have any disqualifications (convicted of a felony) or must have had his or her rights restored if convicted of a felony. To register on Election Day, the person presents a picture/photo identification at his or her polling place. If that same photo contains (for example, a driver’s license) the person’s current address, he or she then completes the registration form and is allowed to vote. If the photo identification does not have the person’s current address, he or she needs to bring an additional piece of proof of current address (such as a utility bill).
