The Idaho Education Association (IEA) is a voluntary membership organization of 13,000 Idaho elementary and secondary teachers, educational support professionals, retired educators, and college students preparing to become teachers.
We are a community of education experts working for the common goal of making Idaho public schools better for all students. Everything we do – from lobbying for increased school resources to campaigning for high standards for teachers and students – is designed to promote and support quality education.
Together, we work to make sure that Idaho’s public schools remain vital and strong and that our more than 275,000 students get nothing short of the best education possible.
IEA's staff of 35 serve members through IEA's nine regional offices. IEA offers programs in quality teaching and learning, bargaining and advocacy, government relations, communications and public relations, legal services, and member benefits. IEA members participate in education, business, and civic partnerships and coalitions as part of our mission to make Idaho's public schools the best they can be.
IEA is a state affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA), America's oldest and largest organization dedicated to advancing the cause of public education. Founded in 1857, NEA proudly claims 3.2 million members who work at every level of education, from pre-schools to universities. NEA has affiliates in all states, as well as in 13,000 towns and cities across the U.S.
